Community currency

Local currencies, including time-based systems are in use by communities and social trade organizations all over the world. Joanna designed three denominations for the Osho Garden Time Bank: 5 hours, 1 and one quarter hour. Exchanging volunteer work for food and services can be made more flexible this way, with more freedom of choice.

Sure, and it will be in the future, if some smart computer expert comes to install software and scanners and pin codes 🙂
But we found the cash fun to design and it is still convenient for small purchases like buying in a street market. And it is discreet. Sometimes people don’t want their transactions to leave an electronic trail behind.
