Olive branches

Olive trees are very hardy and some live up to 2000 years. There were many beautiful old ones on a neighboring land and we were saddened when the owner had them all chopped down for firewood. When they started to burn the remaining smaller branches we asked whether we could have them. In the picture: James from the UK and Gambheera from The Netherlands, cutting and packing the branches to take them to our composting area.

    Dear friends

There are thousands of millions of olive trees of old age in portugal and spain etc. They were brought as sticks from Rome and Greece. They are clones of an ancient tree who lives perhaps still in geece or Lebanon. Please celebrate the genetic purity of all species, the vine…the olive…the cabbage or potato.

Today better and better varieties live on. Focus your vision to now.
